I just took over Hawaii Pacific in Allen.

The team currently has 7 Fr. and I think I would like to cut Beede and Day to help balance classes and because of their low WE (4 and 16 respectively) and low growth for the season (10 and 13).

In GD, if you cut a player who was recruited by someone else the drop in your reputation is much less than if you cut your own player.  In this case the guys were recruited by the SIM but are under scholarship.

Is it worth cutting these guys or just sucking it up and getting some JUCOs when they come up in 3 years?

What is the effect on my reputation if cutting these guys and is it lower than if I had recruited them or the same?

Dont hesitate to cut a player or two recruited by simmy. minimal damage to your rep, less than if you had recruited them.. A juco now might help too...

Cutting other coaches players is less damaging than cutting your own guys..

The damage increases as you cut more, that is, cutting 2 guys hurts more than double 1 guy.

Recommendation: Cut away! You probably won't see any affect and the benefits are great.

Definitely cut them. You can sign any local kid you want for cheap and then maybe snag a good international or overlooked west coast player or two

OK, I did cut those guys.

My reputation did not drop (in GD, it is reputation that is affected on releasing players).  My Loyalty may have gone down slightly (or it may have been from the move from Div-3 to Div-2 ... I did not pay attention after I moved :D).  So, does cutting a player in HD drop your Reputation or your Loyalty?

Looking at my profile, it still says "Spotless Reputation".

Just trying to figure out the intricacies of HD :)

Cutting players drops your reputation, you were correct about your loyalty decreasing by the move from D3 to D2. Now that your the coach, any cuts from here on out will drop your reputation. Minimal effect by cutting SIM recruited players your very first season. All remaining SIM players still on your roster are now considered your players since you didn't cut them at your first opportunity. I've never tried but seems I remember that maybe three is all your AD will allow you to cut in a given season. Not sure about that!!!

You can cut more than three (I've done four in a season once.  Was surprised though that my AD allowed it), but you'll start seeing a bigger drop in your reputation.  One thing to caution you about though.  It's a pretty rare happening, but sometimes when you cut a Sim player, one of his "buddies" will get ****** and decide to transfer on his own.  Just happened to a conference mate of mine in Rupp (different ID obviously).  I've never had it happen to me personally, but I have seen it happen in my conference about three different times.  Just something else to think about!!
