Lofton has been set at RF in both the Player Rest and Defensive Replacement hierarchies from game 1. Sanchez was placed into the Rest hierarchy prior to game 3.
In game 1, we won in the bottom of the 9th, so there was never any point where we were winning by even one run and subs could have come in.
In game 2, we scored a run in the bottom of the 7th, taking a 1-run lead. At this point, the Defensive Replacements hierarchy should have kicked in for the top of the 8th - and, in fact, it did for first base (Q.McClellan enters the game at 1B as a defensive replacement.). It did not, however, for RF, as Lofton stayed on the bench.
In game 3, we were up 2-0 after 5 innings. At this point, the Player Rest hierarchy should have kicked in - and, in fact, it did for first base (Q.McClellan enters the game at 1B to rest the starter.). It did not, however, for RF, as Lofton stayed on the bench OR for DH as Sanchez stayed on the bench.
Thoughts on why this is happening?
