I should know this - but once you get the message that a player is tapped out at a certain skill, can you move to zero practice minutes without the trait declining, or will it head south unless you keep practicing at least some?

you can move to zero without it effectively declining...

For PE and LP, it takes 3 Mins to remain constant ... for all other attributes, it takes 7.

This can be slightly reduced based on WE ... (maybe 2 or 1 for PE/LP, maybe 5 or 6 for the others).

If you use less than that, expect it to drop.

No wonder I'm confused... guess there's one way to find out.

You can set it to 0 and you probably will never see a drop.  If you do you can get it back quickly.

This used to be my thinking as well as I had a hard time accepting the logic of zero minutes.

But I respected some of the coaches advocating 0 on these boards and began trying it on blind faith a season ago. And it works! The 3/7 are good placeholder numbers for skills you haven't received the max'd out e-mail on, but I have yet to have a player's skill drop in an area that he max'd out in after I've taken him down to zero.

My only question is, for you coaches who do things this way -- what do you do with practice minutes that senior year when most of the skills are at max already?

I always set to 0

So setting your FT min to 0 after the msg has no effect either?

I too was a nonbeliever in the 0 minutes after max.  I tried it,  and it works.

I do 0 for everything but FT, because I'm too scared the guys will be dropping slowly and I won't see it... not logical, but there it is.

I do NOT go with 0 for "limited potential" categories until i've gotten the email.

I cut FT to 8 (down from normal 11 or 12), but I cannot prove that going lower would risk anything - just like wronoj

Is there a logic to being able to set to 0 once maxed that I'm missing, or is this really nothing more than a glitch to be taken advantage of?

who cares?

I sometimes throw extra time into study hall when I want to impress the Dean with our academics....Dean Wermer really cares about that, ya know...
