Input wanted in setting lineup in mid-level DI Topic

DI, Crum World, Rice Owls (ratings pasted in below).  With only five returning players from a ranked team, we have a lot of holes to fill.  I normally don't ask for help but I would love to hear some thoughts on which of two freshmen should be the backup SF.  We play Motion - FCP, with the option of a conbo zone thrown in if needed.  Here's my planned lineup:

PG - Kellum, Holt, Fox
SG - Daum, Holt, Fox
SF - Culpepper, backed up by Ryan or Kamp
PF - Jones, Irwin, Rozanski
C - Hoard, Irwin, Rozanski

So, I need to decide whether Ryan or Kamp will be in the rotation at SF - the other one I may try to redshirt.  No promises were made to either.  Both played Motion - Press in high school.

In Kamp's favor, is his Athleticism, Def, BH skills and better LP talent.  Also, playing him will help boost his 40 WE.
In Ryan's favor is his rebounding and passing.

This is a very close call for me, and I have half a mind to alternate them through non-conference and see who emerges, although then I will lose the opportunity to RS one.  I would love any thoughts and any new considerations any of you could offer.

relative potentials?

Right now I'd go w/Kamp, but perhaps I'd go with Ryan if Kamp had lot more upside AND he would take the R/S.

Thanks jdno.

Kamp has high potential in DEF and PASSING (I could see him shifting to SG next year) and low potential in ATH, SP, LP and BH.
Ryan has high potential in ATH and REB and low potential in LP, PER and PASSING.

i'd still go w/Kamp and try to R/S Ryan

Thanks, that is probably what I will do.  Not sure if the fact that Ryan is the only SF on the roster will make him less inclined to take a RS?

i'd actually start Kamp over Culpepper.  IMHO, he's the better player immediately.

Interesting thought summerteeth.  In the abstract you may be right but:  Culpepper is a better defender and has an A- Press IQ to Kamp's C- IQ.  Quite often my SF starter will be going against one of the opponent's top scorers, so I like to start the better defender at SF.  With Kamp's current IQ, he will likely tend to get into foul trouble against faster upperclassmen.  Kamp is a much better offensive player than Culpepper, so I think he can make a real impact coming off the bench, and not having to compete as much for shots against Kellum and Jones who should be all conference type scorers.  But Kamp's Press IQ will improve, and if my team struggles, I could definitely see trying to start Kamp and see if that makes a difference.  Also, keep in mind that since I plan to run a fast-paced motion - FCP most of the time, Kamp will likely max out on his minutes whether or not he starts.
