I know that some borderline recruits appear to some teams, but not to others on the recruiting search feature. For instance, a player that appears Division II to a C- prestige D-III school might show up as a Division III recruit to an A- prestige D-III institution.

My question is, do ALL schools within the same prestige level see the SAME pool of recruits? i.e. -- If a buddy and I both have B+ prestige schools in a division, will we both see the exact same list of possible recruits? Or do modifiers like distance, coach prestige (anything else) play into the determination of which players appear on a specific school's recruit search list?

My understanding is this: There are D1 recruits, D2 Recruits, and D3 Recruits.  As a D2 school, nobody on my d2 list is a d3 recruit and no d3 schools see them as d3 recruits.  I don't have 2 teams in the same world, so this will probably be pointed out as another misconception I have.

As for the 2nd one, we used to compare how many guys (but not which, don't worry, no collusion) we could see on our d3 list.  In one state I could see one more recruit than my fellow A+ conference mate, so all schools of a certain prestige do not see EXACTLY the same amount of recruits.

Distance and coach prestige (or anything else) play into what players will talk to you, but not which players show up on which lists.

As a A+ D3 you see low D2 players on your screen as D3 players, and I believe all schools with a given prestige can see them.

The first part actually is a misconception TK.  For instance, I DO have two teams in the same world (Tark) and some of the D1 players that I can see at Duke, I can also see at D2 Northeastern State (this is prior to any dropdowns being involved).  It's not a whole lot at first, but they are there.

Of course, the higher the prestige of the D2/D3 school plays a huge factor in which of these players they can originally see.  By the way, this has change ALOT since the new recruit generation was put into place.

Can I get you to clarify your last two sentences emy? In what way has it changed alot since the new recruit generation came into existence? More? Less?

I can answer one part of this-- think of the players an A+ d2 school can recruit-- the good ones are largely ranked at their position, meaning they are definitely D1-level recruits.

as for the changes since the new recruits, i think d2 schools can now get higher-ranked recruits than before, but not necessarily better ones overall than they could before. (caveat-- i haven't had a d2 team in ages.)
