The only thing I can think of is that he has 85 for WE ... that coupled with some high potential areas would allow for massive growth in some attributes.  Do they take into account growth for their ratings?

No potential isn't a factor

If you don't have a team in Wooden you can't see the recruit, copy and paste the ratings. Obviously with a 12 reb and 9 LP he shouldn't be a D1 recruit let alone top 100 at his position.

Sean Berry is the recruit in question - #92 PF.  Here are his ratings:

i'm betting his potentials have to be really high.

there are always a smattering of top200 recruits that justhave high ATH and Defense.

Assuming his speed, perimeter, BH, and passing are all liable to go up with practice it seems like this guy might be looking at a decent career as a defensive DII point guard.

Potential is not a determinant in the ratings. They strictly base it on current skills. The reason this guy is ranked so high is because the rating system extremely overvalues defensive skills. This skews the perceved value of a player way out of proportion. I have done numerous comparisons of players where one player has the better numbers in all the skill cores but has a lower defensive skill rating and virtually every time the player with the lower cores will be rated higher. This is why I rarely consider ratings or stars when recruiting. Potential is all that matters in this era of HD.
