Most F*cked world ever? Topic

John Kruk league has been trying to rollover to season 10 for nearly 3 months now. This is a league that historically has 10+ openings EVERY offseason. Year in-and-out there is tons of bickering and lopsided trades are allowed to go through. (Check out Seattle's trade history) It certainly doesn't help that everyone's favorite owner, hartjh, has appointed himself police of the world (a fruitless effort). Countless aliases have certainly wandered in and out of the world for years. Unfortunately, I was an owner in this world from S2-S7 before I had had enough and left.

My questions are these:

Is this the worst world in the history of HBD? Has there ever been a longer rollover? How long will it sit there before admin finally mans up and deletes it?

I think Admin will create a rule that forces random HBD players to fill out the league, like jury service.

It'll work like this -- when you go to renew the world you're interested in, first you'll have to sign up for a season of John Kruk before you can buy the season for your own world.

I hope I get a couple of GC's for making the most helpful suggestion since TSA invented electronic bodyscanners.

I jumped in there for awhile.

There is a movement towards a small redraft to redistribute some of the talent. I think THAT will help immensely.
Obviously the teams that are winning 100+ every season are opposed to the idea.

The reason I finally pulled out, with little hope of the world ever getting straightened out, was the alias issues.

There are two owners, in particular who I find quite suspicious:

I won't name them, because I can't know for sure but...

1) Joined WIS in May 08. Apparently he joined Foxx in season 10, then had no teams in ANY other WIS product until just now, when he joins Kruk, of all worlds. Seems fishy to say the least.

2) This owner just joined WIS in September, I have a hard time believing a brand new owner would sign up for a HBD team, choose to join Kruk and is content with just sitting there all this time, rather than joining another world that will actually fill in a timely manner.

When I made my feelings known to the commish and to another original owner (who was one of the few to consider that a reditribution might be a good thing), I got NO RESPONSE from the commish and the other owner simply said:
"I'm not the commish, so I can't do anything about kicking out owners".

I left two days later figuring if the commish wouldn't even respond, he was not really much of a leader.

Both suspected aliases are still just sitting there never making a single comment and apparently are content to wait it out for whatever reason.

Does WIS even care that there is a league that is taking months to fill? This can't be very good for WIS reputation or for bringing in new owners. The negative publicity this league has had would preclude me(and I assume most legitimate HBD owners) from ever considering joining this farce. So, why does WIS allow it to continue? And why are the current league members still hanging around for months waiting for a rollover that it appears will never happen?

Think about how poor John Kruk feels...has anyone asked him how he feels about this league ruining his personal brand?

The state of Kruk doesn't have any effect on HBD, WifS or me.  Not sure why WifS would shut it down.

3 months, mans that's a long time. Glad I'm not in it.

That's pretty funny.

Kruk is one of my all-time favorite MLB players. It is actually the reason I joined and tried to push for the redistribution.

They should change it to World Mendoza

The problem is you can't combine this world with another world if it's true about the alias thing and stacked teams. What other world would want to be a part of Kruk in any fashion?
Second problem is WIS sells the game as a dynasty game. They can't simply shut it down. It could create realife issues for WIS.
So it sits in limbo until enough owners leave and the cheaters are the only ones left. Or until all the other worlds fill and new owners are forced to turn to Kruk.

15 openings..

This has become interesting.   Kruk openings bounce up and down on a seeming non-stop basis.   15-10-12-10-11 and so on.   I wonder, if this is an alias breeding ground, if some owners are jumping in and checking out rosters on other teams to see if they're prime alias takeover territory?  I can't imagine a n00b saying "Hey, I like the Kruker, I'll join that one!" and then changing his mind 2 hours later when there are other, better choices staring him in the face.

I was in Kruk the last 2 seasons...Hartjh was like a cancerous boil on the *** of the league my first season, then he left- only to return when the league went public...

I think the league needs to shape up, but it's only 2 teams that are really lopsided- and one of those lost in the playoffs

I took over a team that had never made the playoffs- won 65 my 1st one, then 105 in season 2...I think the bigger problem in that league is the 6-7 owners that field AAA teams in ML. Tanking is killing it. I won 65 games and still only had the 8th draft pick. New owners are coming in and immediately trading away talent to get worse in ML, cut salary, and compete for IFA's and a top draft pick.

I added a .300 hitting 1st baseman and a 77 overall 3rd baseman that stole 50 bases while hitting .282 off the Rule 5 draft alone...

It's a tankers paradise in Kruk

harthj has good intentions(I think).   It's just that his people skills are so horrible he makes me look like Gandi.  If you're such an *** that NO ONE agrees with you, you can't enact change.  He fails to understand this.   As far as the world goes, it doesn't get better unless you get a majority, and you need a few of the top owners to agree, that wants it to change.   You need 10-12 owners to say "No, you can't make that deal.  Your team won 50 games last season and you're trading away your only two legit BL players.  That's unacceptable."  Until then, Kruk will wallow in it's own filth.   And never fill.

In answer to the original question, is Kruk the worst world in HBD?  I'm not sure, but it's up there.  Off the top of my head I know that Foxx had some major issues and a 30 page forum thread about it, and Wright had 20+ openings one season a few years ago.  But those seem to be on the right track and aren't the disasters they used to be, which is a credit to the honest and dedicated owners righting the ship.

Congratulations on officially making it to the 3 month mark.  Not many others have been able to achieve this.
