When league founders would generally take the 12th team, or the last team, or 16th, or something like that?  There's still a few guys around who typically go the classy route, but it seems like most of the time guys post up a league and pick a team 2 seconds later.  It never gives me a warm fuzzy feeling about a league when the founder is like "here's a new league, I'll start us off by taking the best team I could find/the one that made me think of the concept..."

Yea I understand what you are saying. I generally always take the 10th team or wait till 9 people have signed up before picking. It just is a common curtesy to me that you are giving everyone a fair chance and are on the up and up.

I'm with you on that!

I took the 7th Yankee team (2010) out of 12 for the 2nd Steinbrenner League. Good thing because I took the last one for the rivals side which was the 2010 Rangers and they suck it. Hard. In fact, in 2 consecutive appearances, 2010 combined-season Cliff Lee with a real-life 1.00 WHIP gave up 21 runs (all earned) in a combined 4.1 IP. That's not a typo. Twenty-one runs allowed against 13 outs. 12 in 1.2 then 9 in 2.2. Anyway, what I did was a fair compromise if the commish takes 2 teams.
