IFA cycles before signing Topic

Is it pretty random when a new IFA pops up and when he actually makes a decision to sign with a club?  Of is there a set amount of cycles/time that he will sit and entertain offers?

It seems to me like IFAs wait until there haven't been any new offers for a while, then they sign.

Any offer at all in a while....or any offers that top the 'current top offer'?

New top offers I think

Wierd, I have been the 'top offer' since this IFA showed up in the world and it has been 4 complete real life days.  No signing, I have never not been the top offer.  No word at all.  I imagine he is feverishly rattling the cages of several other teams trying to get them up above me, but it hasnt happened yet, and no clue when he will sign.

From my experience with that exact situation, here's how it should work out:  As soon as another owner makes an offer higher than yours, he'll sign with them

I've been told there is a set cycle that he is predetermined to sign at, and I have experienced it that way. I had the highest bid on a player for a couple days, then another owner outbids me at midnight and the IFA signed at the 2am cycle. I was pretty ******. I would have offered more.

I'm not quite sure about that predetermined stuff.  I think that the IFAs that attract more action take longer to sign, and the ones that don't, sign earlier.  Anecdotal evidence to be sure, but it just seems like the pattern I've noticed in my 48 seasons.

I think what might be predetermined is the earliest he might sign at, but they seem to take longer if there is a bidding war going on.

I remember reading somewhere that a FA or IFA will stay undecided if there is bidding on them even if no one tops the highest bid for a while. The thinking goes that they can eventually get more money since presumably, one of the bidders will eventually put in a higher offer. I pretty much accept this as fact.

I dont plan on upping my bid, as it is pretty high as is from the beginning.  If someone wants to bid over me I would lose a stud player but it would also affectively take them out of IFA for the year too, which would give me a better shot at the next stud.  But it would be nice if he signs soon.

I started dropping my bid a half mil every cycle on him, three cycles later he signed with me.
