For SF is LP or Per better?? Topic

I have always used my small forwards as outside shooters that can occasionally take it to the hole. They have generally been decent scorers between (10-15 ppg) although, I haven't had any on All-American teams or anything.

I was going along fine with thinking that SF should be mostly perimeter players until I got into D1 and started checking out the top teams and how they are built. For the most part every single one has had their SF be a beast on the LP and that caused me to rethink the way I am building my team.

Thus, the question...should I just keep doing it the way I have always done it or take a cue from the top ranked teams and change it up?

Thanks for you help!

You can go either way and have an extremely successful team. I think what's more important is to build in your sf's skills to complement the rest of your team -- i.e. if you have a bunch of good outside shooters to go with him, probably makes more sense for him to be more of an inside threat, and vice versa. Especially in DI where the player should be better overal, it's nice to have versatility where the guy has some ability both inside and out.

I can't address the D1 part of the question, but since the new engine introduction I've looked for SF's with perimeter ratings so I can plug them in at SG some and utilize the (generally) better rebound rating. I don't think there's a "right" answer to the question though...look at the other four positions on the floor and figure out what "style" of SF complements that the best and covers for the needs that are remaining and then recruit accordingly.
