I've heard different things from friends on what it's like to recruit with a D at D1. Can you 'pull' down star'd recruits like you can pull down at d2/d3? Or can you simply not talk to them at all?

Pretty good chance that starred recruits won't talk to you, though that's not 100% definite. You'd have a better shot if they were w. in 70 miles. I would just give some a call and see. More importantly, I wouldn't concern yourself with which recruits are starred and which aren't; you should focus on ratings and potential. There are lots of non-starred players who are better than starred players.

i see comments on here all the time about what star-level certain levels of school can recruit, and think it's hilarious. I never paid the slightest attention to stars-- look at your direct competition (what do you need to compete in your league?), call the guys you want based on ratings and potential, and go get 'em.

But be aware, D prestige is nothing and to beat a C+ level team you'll need to spend double to win.  At a B level it might be triple.
