scholarship emails Topic

I am recruiting a juco center and was on his list for a few cycles before another DIII school showed up on his list, but I did not get an updated scholarship email. Do I only get an email when the status changes - I go from in the lead to tied, or to trailing the other school?

So basically does no email = me still winning?

yes, no email = you still winning

Yes, those are the emails that matter the most. If your last 'ship email says you are ahead that's what counts.

If I go from a message that says ""It would be an honor to play for you at La Grange, but I'd also be honored to play for a couple of other schools too. I'm sorry, I just need more time." or "Hey Coach, I really love your program, but I feel like I need to give each program my full attention before I make my decision. I can't say yes right now. Sorry." does that mean I'm losing now, or a toss up?

It means that the other team has seriously cut down your lead. You are slightly behind but if your opponent continues at that rate without you at least matching him, the player may soon drop you completely.

My general rule of thumb is if you're not sure how to interpret the schollie email, you should spend more money.

Wanted to bump this post in particular.  It's incredibly vauge as to if I'm winning or losing, especially the 2nd one.  I had a string that went each cycle, and eventually ended with this one:

"Coach, just following up on your scholarship offer. I REALLY love your program, but I have to tell you, another school looks like it may be a great fit for me too. I just can't decide yet"

I've not gotten any scholarship e-mails since then while continuing to put in $.

The HV and CV emails are along the lines of:
"Thanks for your visit with my family and me. I never thought that you would be so interested in having me play for you, and having my family hear your dedication and support for your players, got them on your bandwagon, too. I can't wait to come to X."

and
"Thanks for stopping by! My family was quite impressed and now understand why I want to play for you. Can't wait to talk to you again, Coach!"

But no adittional schollie emails.

Am I winning or losing?

Probably losing by just a little bit.  Do double effort the next cycle and see what happens...

It's odd how the player HV/CV emails are seemingly not in line with the Schollie one.  I want to play for you, I can't wait to talk to you, I REALLY love your program, these last visits are just a formality...

Message never changed from the last one: " I REALLY love your program, but I have to tell you, another school looks like it may be a great fit for me too. I just can't decide yet"

and he signed.

the HV CV messages are often misleading - the kid is there saying whatever he feels like saying, he's a 18 year old just talking - the only messages that tell you where you stand are the schollie emails

Has anybody compiled a list of the scholarship emails in order of their meaning from say definitely going to sign to I won't be playing for you?  Just like many of you I have often spent many hours trying to decipher if I'm in the lead or not and was just wondering if anyone has created a "cheat sheet" that they would be willing to share.
