Prestige question(s) Topic

1. What does it take to change prestige? I went from 27-4 and a sweet 16 run to 2-25 the following season and dropped from a B to a B-. Should a .500 record keep me at B-? Will 8-10 wins keep me there?
2. Does SOS matter when considering prestige? In other words if I play a softer schedule to get more W's do I have a better shot at staying where I am? I realize getting to the NT is very important for prestige and a soft schedule hurts that, but my team is young and won't get there regardless, so should I schedule for wins?
Thanks in advance for any help...

1)  No a 8-10 win season will not get you a B- prestige.  You need to do better.

Prestige is not affected by SOS.  It is affected by wins, rpi, ranking, CT championships, Conf Championships, NT/PT births/wins.

D1 considers NBA draftees, baseline prestige and conference prestige too.

As I said, I'm already a B-. You're saying an 8-10 win season will cause me to drop? I'm not questioning you, just didn't completely understand your answer...Thanks!

I don't really understand prestige either.  I was certainly surprised to see my Rochester team drop from an A to an A- following a 21-win, 2nd round NT appearance given that it was a 2nd round NT appearance the season before that had pushed me the whole way up to A from B+.  I guess in the previous season I had won 27 and been ranked 10th, but the postseason result was the same.  Thought that was the most important thing.  My best guess is that I was a low A and it didn't need to change much to show up as an A-.  As far as you only dropping one 1/3 step following a 2-win season, I would imagine that you probably were a high B and now are a low B-.  But I'm just guessing.
