in relief.... I know, you can go uncheck the relief box, but come-on, I may be forced to use him in relief if he's pitching in 3 games, but not the next one.  And, since you are unable to alter your rotation it screws me at least twice a season.

If you're "forced" to use a member of your starting rotation in relief, then you either (a) haven't constructed your pitching staff correctly, or (b) aren't staying on top of pitching fatigue.

or maybe you're in a 20+ inning game a couple times a season
If you have a 20 inning game, then shouldn't you be paying a little more attention to pitching fatigue for a couple of games until your staff stabilizes?

Wow.  Twice a season?  I might have had it happen once in 20 seasons.   I'd suggest not having the relief box checked on any SP.   It shouldn't be necessary.

I tend to run a 4 man rotation, with my long B being a spot 5th starter.  Twice this season, After moving my Long B guy to be the next guy to start, he has been brought in to pitch. (Once it was a 17-inning game -- but in the other game, there were other rested relievers).  Again, i know I could control it more by going into player settings and unchecking relief, but this game is not my life I forget at times.

I think we can all agree than in a real baseball league (which this is supposed to simulate), the manager would either:
A) not put that pitcher in; or
B) be able to change his starting pitcher after using him in relief.
Since we don't have the second option, there needs to be a tweak so option A is utilized more often

That's all I'm saying.  If it makes you feel better to criticize my management style, I'm glad I can help you with your self-esteem.  I can add yet another good deed to my accomplishments of the day.

I do see that my first post could have been clearer. My 4 starters do NOT pitch in relief -- but rather it is the spot starter whom makes me grumble.

Are you no longer glad you could help us with our self-esteem?

Anyway, if you're too busy to check/uncheck a box because "this game is not my life", why worry about it?  It's just a game.

The game is not my life?   Now what do I do?

Go to a strip bar.

Nah.   It just came up because someone said they found FA fun.  And another guy said he'd rather do coach hiring that watch strippers.
