  It seems that so many worthwhile players go to waste in FA, when they demand outlandish contracts.  A player thats 61 overall demands a three year deal at 4.7 million a year.  C'mon man.

  I believe the current scenario is a 6yr minor league free agent that is a 60 overall or higher will demand a ML deal.  Why not have the 60-65 overall players look for a one year deal at the ML minimum 327k.  It would be better than having some talented players go to waste.

Their demands will drop the longer they go unsigned.

If they weren't worth protecting, they're probably just minor league fodder.   I wouldn't worry with them.   Sign your draft picks and you have a steady supply of warm bodies.
