Doubleteam in zone. Topic

I'm under the impression that the defensive ratings (along with speed & athleticism) of the players executing a doubleteam are more important to the success of each instance than are their defensive IQ's. Is this correct, or am I full of sh*t?

Honestly I don't think that's right.  The only thing that I think is significantly different in terms of who will be better at/should be considered for double teaming vs. just who will be good in the zone defense is that speed is much more critical if you're going to DT.  If players are leaving their zones they need to be quick to get back or they'll get burned.  Or at least that's been my experience.

Incidentally I don't think it's ever worth double teaming a post player in the zone.

I agree about not doubeteaming a post player, but I feel as though I remember from somewhere that the likelyhood of success in each instance (such as a turnover or missed shot, as well as not excessively fouling) was largely influenced by the defensive, speed, and atheletic ratings of the players involved in the doubleteam, and that defensive IQ didn't play a substantial role in the outcome. I'm not referring to the outcome of the possession as a whole. I tried browsing around for the reference, but couldn't pin in down quickly.
