I don't think I have ever seen the like, he might be the first projected 38 OV player I would actually consider playing.  Too bad he won't be good for more then a few games a season.  Macbeth Sturtze was another teams DITR this past cycle in Cobbfather.

Defensive specialist at what? DH?

Looks like he could develop good def skills at C.

His parents should be demoted for that name, however.

This is true, if he actually hit what is projected there.

Unfortunately, I think the chances of that are about 0, since playing time so heavily influences development. But, with a 19 DUR and 48 health, you're torn between babying him (and so not getting him the PA req'd to fully develop) and playing him at something well under 100% (and so just playing a losing game against the odds until he gets broken repeatedly).

For the purpose of this discussion, I was assuming that he hit projections.

Agree on the chances of that happening with a DUR of 19 (and a HEA of 48).  Too many factors working against him.

Still, DITR's are "free" so it can't hurt to try develop him as much as possible and see where he ends up.

Career Minor leaguer.

Amazing how catchers and DHs are the only ones who ever have this kind of durability.

I have yet to see a superstud SS who can only play 25 games per season.

Wouldn't the same development apply to 50 inning pitchers?  They're not pitching very often.   But don't they develop just fine.

Could this guy get 110 AB a season and develop?   I'd at least try to find out.

Not amazing if you think about it.

DUR is only there so we don't play guys 162 games.   It's not unusual for a SS to play 150 games a season.    But catchers don't.     If the master programming plan is for a guy to only be a defensive or platoon catcher, despite full-time catcher ratings, the only way to make that happen is to zap his durability.   Same thing applies to low inning RP.   Some of the best pitchers in HBD at the 45 IP a year guys.

here's a similar guy I have in one of my worlds:

Actually very similar, though your guy, if he reached his projections would have a better stick.

This guy is good for about 160 at bats a year, the the playoffs.

He got DiTR status in season 5 I believe, but you can probably compare progress as they both have 19 durability.

That's not bad development at all.  What does he cost in salary per year?  Does he ever get above the minimum?

You might get more ABs out of him than you think.  Gonzalez
