I've got my team drafted, but I'd like some advice on whether I should go with a pitcher's park like I initially planned, or a slight hitter's park.  I drafted a really good defensive team and a good staff, but I'm unsure if they will provide enough offense for me.  Here are the hitters:

C - '06 Mauer               .429 OBP/.507 SLG
1B - '05 Pujols             .430/.609
2B - '51 Stanky            .401/.369
3B - '73 Yastrzemski  .407/.463
SS - '76 Harrah           .360/.377
OF - '54 Ashburn         .441/.376
OF - '73 North              .373/.330
OF - '48 DiMaggio       .396/.598
DH - '48 Williams        .497/.615

And my pitching staff is as follows:

95 Maddux        OAV .197
00 Martinez               .167
96 Brown                   .220
02 Lowe                     .211
80 Richard                 .166
96 Rivera                    .189
88 Milacki                   .110
09 Adams                  .111
67 Carlos                   .161
87 McDowell             .168
08 Devine                  .150
92 Rasmussen        .197
63 Tiefenauer           .194

So I was looking at these stadiums and that's where I got stuck:

Ebbets Field                   -1/+1/0/+1/+1        1.02
Sicks' Stadium               -2/+1/-3/+2/+2       1.01
Crosley Field                  -1/0/0/+1/+1           0.99
Miller Park                       -2/0/0/+1/+1           0.98
Camden Yards              0/-2/-3/+1/+1          0.96
Cleveland Stadium       +1/-1/-2/+1/+1        0.94
Riverfront Stadium        -2/0/0/+1/+1            0.90

I always have a hard time choosing the right stadium.  The one time it was easy was in a franchise league where I had Boston and drafted a team to fit Fenway.  Do you think my team will prevent enough HRs to be in a stadium that's +1 for HR, or should I abandon that altogether and go with a park like Dodger Stadium?  I don't want to go too extreme on a hitter's park because I only drafted 1,373 IP (we will have AAA, which I'll use for mop-up, etc), but I do want to score some runs.

Thanks.

I have had great luck in Crosley Field with good offense(Dick Allen, Joe Torre, Ellis Burks) and top notch pitching(Greg Maddux, Jim Bunning), however, that was in a dual year progressive.  I like Crosley Field simply because it helps you with power, but is technically a pitchers park with a below 1.00 rating.

With that being said, it seemed like my offense surprised me not only in the long ball category, but they also seemed to overproduce average wise.

Also, i found that as long as i had pitchers that didn't give up a lot of base runners, most of the home runs hit were solo shots anyway.  That is just my 2 cents, not sure how Crosley Field will fit your team, but i think it is a very good Ballpark.

I like Crosley too... have built a few competitive teams around speed/power and pitching.

What cap is it? It looks pretty high.  The higher the cap the more offense.  If you only have 1370 IP you might have to go with a pitchers park.

Also, if you going to cater your offense to your park you should really look at 2b/AB and 3b/AB they are more significant than OBP and SLG

I agree with TJ, you are short on innings and have to go with a pitchers park, and probably at least -2 1B park.

OK thanks guys.  It's a $120M cap ... and we do have AAA, but I think I'll switch from Crosley to a -2 1B park.

what kind of AAA and how many?

Tianyi asks a good question. Of the parks you mention, I don't think there will be a huge difference. I do think I'd worry less about defense, opting for more offense, but not completely ignoring defense. For the money, that would net you a stronger team, IMO. I have had excellent results with '55 williams, '43 nicholson, '47? mize, '43 dickey (in some sort of 3 man platoon)...There are some incredible normalization values in the '40s that you are missing.
