Does being a switch hitter mean anything in this game?  A hitter has his vL and vR and all pitchers have their vL and vR.....but on top of that, is there any significance to being a switch hitter?

Don't forget that whatever pitcher is throwing to him also has ratings for vL and vR.

Generally left-handed pitchers have a lower vR split and right-handed pitchers have a lower vL split, so the batter would get the benefit of "facing" the lower split.

There's no advantage for the batter other than the fact that he is probably getting to face the pitcher's weaker split.  Most pitchers have a decent sized split between vsr and vsl, and switch hitters usually get the benefit of that difference.
