What's your baseline?

35 is what I shoot for, but I think 28 is probably the lowest I would go.

Assuming the player needs gains. If he is already where he needs to be, then obviously it doesn't matter

i generally do my searches for 40+ but if i can't find what i want in that search i've gone as low as 30...or 20 if the player is going to start.  i won't go below that though...mostly because at D3 i dont think there are any players that don't need gains

25. 20 if I think a player will be worth it

High teens.

Teens, if they're worth it.  Obviously higher is better.

17 is about my limit, but I have yet to take a guy below 20.

I took a stab at a low WE guy last year who could start day 1 in D3 as I had a hole in my lineup and he was a D2 pull down.  WE was only 12 when I got him.  Been pretty pleased so far.  If I remember, I'll revive this thread and post his final ratings, improvement when all is said and done.  Planning on 4 years starting and I may try to get a late year RS once the WE goes up if he'll take it to eek out some more improvement.

Here's the player if you're interested in following his development

FYI:  He's playing SF.

17-19 is where I set my min search depending on potential for playing time.

I just did the same this week with a pull down who had very high ATH (low potential), SPD (average potential) and DEF (high potential) ratings.  His WE is only 13, which would normally bother me but it may also be why some other teams didn't put the rush on him.  Honestly the only things I'm going to work him hard on are grades and PER.  He's already several times better than anyone I have on my D2 team, so I promised him a start and I'll take whatever L's I need until his IQ is up:

He's an aberration though.  I typically try to focus on guys with WE over about 20-25 at a bare minimum.

That guy is perfectly fine. He can play pretty well w/o any major growth. I took this guy in D3 and he's only grown about 100 points in3 seasons. Still a beast in my fcp system. If the ratings are good enough, I guess I would go as low as 1 WE, but you rarely see those kind of players.

That's a nice player, Tianyi.  I'd take him in a heartbeat but then right now I'm in the middle of working off the fat of 2 seasons of bad recruiting decisions and I need guys like that in the worst way :).  My only concern with him would be his really low DUR.  Has he had a lot of injuries?
