You can start recruiting him normally.

That is exactly what I thought as well but for whatever reason the player rejected all subsequent calls and recruiting effort. Ended up costing me the money for 2 scouting trips because I thought I was good to go start recruiting him.

Did you send more scouting trips?  They can't be rejected.  When in doubt, that's what I do - I could be wrong.   In my last group of recruits, I was getting ambivalent messages from my pulldown until I threw him more scouts.  I ended up signing him.

For the 8pm cycle I sent a phone call and got the above response. For the 11pm cycle I sent a scholarship offer, 2 scouting trips, a bunch of calls, letters and calls to the coach. The scholarship was declined, all of my calls were rejected and the coaches response was "Hey Coach, thanks for the call to chat about player x. I know my players pretty well and if I were you I wouldn't plan on player x wearing your colors next season."

How can I go from "in the middle" at 8pm then at 11pm the player wont even take my calls and his coach basically tells me I have no chance? This makes no sense to me....

I've always treated that as a no answer.
