I suggest there should be an option for the computer to handle the financial part of the game. I joined a league once before and had to give up because the financial end seems so diffucult with all these contract rules. I"m giving it one more try though because i like the game otherwise.

 If the contract jargon gave you a hard time, then this game may not be for you.  It's a pretty involved game.

If i cant figure it out I'll just leave that part go and whatever happens happens,. not quitting again and wasting another $15.

Definently don't want the computer handling it, but it sure would be nice if we could set our budget the day the world rolls over, that way if we're not at our computer the day the league fills and hits go, we don't get stuck w/ the previous season's budget.

Budget is way too important for there to be such a short window to set it.  I don't see any downside to letting us save a budget numbers starting the day the world rolls until the current cutoff time.

Agreed, if we let an automated system work the buget for us, this would be called GM dynasty.  Most of the strategy of the game is in how well you can set your initial numbers, as it is expensive to move money around after the budgets are set.  Wayne, take the time to decide how you are going to build a team (draft, trades, FA's) and then set your numbers, but once you do stick to your plan.  I personally don't mind platooning at some positions at the ML level so I am willing to pick up an FA with limitations who can succeed in other areas.  First season in steinbrenner it didn't help much, second season added 11 wins and a playoff appearence.  Definately use the mentors available, it helps with the enjoyment of the game.  Just formulate a plan and then get some help on how to impliment it.
