Tell me why anyone would play in a league with a series of emails like this...  Name and league number changed to protect the commish...

I think you missed my point....

You haven't told me anything about your league. I don't know anything about it, so I don't know if it is a league I would want to play in or not.

It's as ridiculous as a message saying "buy my car". Even if you are looking for a car, unless the guy tells you about the car, and the price, you're not going to be very interested in it.

Mass mailings are the worst way to fill a league.  Chances are you're just going to annoy the people you're trying to get to join.

Only a true cynic would remain unconvinced upon reading this commish's heartfelt, and nearly grammatical, testimonial.

It was a really cool league when someone ran it like 5 years ago....

I got the same message and just deleted it.

Clearly the "because" answer has been working well for him since the age of three or so, and he hasn't outgrown it yet.  Of course, you're right.  Though I have to confess that you're taking your life in your hands when you title a post "Am I crazy?" in this group. 

I delete an average of 2-3 SiteMail invitations each week.....and I'm not as popular as the rest of you.

I only delete boogerlips sitemails. He may be stalking me

The worst part is, I've been looking for a couple of themes to play in, so I opened it.  If it had been halfway interesting, I might even have played.  I just didn't like the lack of effort from the commish.

On the other hand, my temper has been pretty crap lately, so I might have overreacted.  My wife brought home a puppy and the puppy hasn't let me get a good nights sleep in the two weeks it's been here.  And we won't even talk about the impact of trying to housebreak the damn thing.

Len, have you tried the old "stick a windup clock under their blanket" trick?  It worked for 2 of the 3 pups we bought over the years.
