Does anyone know how the system ranks recruits (like 170th pg vs the 110th)?

the reason i ask is it's not overall rating, and it's not really potential (i'm always amazed at how some of the top 100 recruits have tons of low potential ratings) so how do they do it? Being in DII I can't really FSS all of the states i look at our scout every player i'm interested in, but I keep finding myself turning town top 150 ranked (in position) recruits for lower ranked or unranked players because of potential.

is it just me or I am just that bad of a coach?

Recruit rankings do not take potential into account.

I believe they use a custom weighted formula per position.  AFAIK the exact formulas are unknown.
