Wow, that's awfully non-specific.  Here's an equivalent answer: attempt to minimize your opponents' strengths and attack their weaknesses.

The most important thing of all, and this is extremely important. Write this down and DO NOT forget it.  When your opponent has a higher team rating than you, the ablsolute best thing you can do is(THIS GUARANTEES A WIN) adjust your tempo and set your player disto's to ...........................Oh crap, you wanted EXPERTS ONLY, never mind.

Here's some pretty basic stuff that I do:  (1) Determine if the other team is, on average, better or worse than yours.  If considerably better, run slowdown, if considerably worse, run uptempo (if you have decent depth).  (2) Check to see if the other team is an "inside" or "outside" team, based on LP and PER ratings and on # of 3pt attempts/game.  Adjust team defense setting based on that.  (3) If opponent plays mtm, see which starters are weak defenders and which are strong and adjust distro slightly based on that.  (4) If opponents plays fcp, get better passers more playing time (as long as they're relatively comparable players) by adjusting fatigue settings.  Just a few things you can try.

Thanks a bunch kucewicz...
Will definitely implement those strategies when games start soon

Backboy13, Be a reader of boxscores and pbp's.  And take notice of little things.  Offensive rebound %, fouls, turnovers, missed FTs.  Then look at "who."

Maybe it's fatigue.  Maybe it's distribution, Maybe it's IQ, def setting or tempo...

A lot of things can add up to 10+ points, both on a game by game basis as well as a recruit target standpoint that will impact future seasons.

Good luck

I'd be careful with that "Be a reader of ... pbp" advice.  You can sometimes find a problem in there, but if you aren't used to looking at it you might not realize that a lot of the stuff in there is just window dressing.  You have to not get caught up in a lot of the wording, which tends to be pretty arbitrary.

I do pretty much what kucewicz is suggesting here.  The other thing I look at, but am not sure what to do about, is how athletic or fast the other team is.

What's a good way to defend a team that has higher ATH or SPD?  Set the gym on fire?

thanks a bunch rails and dahsdebater for the advice
ethan... i like the gym on fire technique... should yield nice results... the game might end 0-0
nevertheless...
