First off this is NOT another thread complaining about injuries.  It is an attempt to gather DL data from multiple worlds.

In Edmonds, we recently had an owner (not me) with $20mil training (helps reduce frequency of injuries) and $20mil medical (helps reduce length of injuries) budgets have a 100 health rated player go down with a season ending injury towards the beginning of the season.  This prompted a discussion on the world chat where more than 1 owner said it seems like injuries are up recently across multiple worlds they are in.

Again, this is not an attempt to prove injuries are up because I do not have any DL data from previous season to compare this data to.  I am attempting to gather data on how many players are on the DL in other worlds to see how various worlds compare with each other.  Please provide the data listed in the chart below and I will compile and report it over the next week.  Thanks!

Just because the player has 100 Health & the owner has 20 in both Training and Budget, does NOT mean the player will never get injured. I do NOT understand why people think this is so. A pitcher with 100 Control, even with a Pitching Coach that has 100 in Pitching IQ & 100 in discipline, isn't going to throw a strike every single time. A player with 100 Power isn't going to hit a HR everytime he connects with the ball. Why is it that folks expect the above scenario to translate into no injuries, of any kind, for any length of time, ever? Injuries happen randomly to the healthiest of players with the best doctors money can buy all the time. I do not understand the purpose of the excerise, other than to serve as another veiled "injuries are too high" meme.

Please direct me in the right direction if I am mistaken, as I very well may be.

There has been a similar conversation in Ford World as well as more than volume, many teams have had key contributors go down with injuries many of them long term

I'm not sure if this is a worthwhile exercise or not, but I'm always for collection of data.

I dig that part, which is why I sent mine! It's the premise that has me puzzled. However, it can never hurt to have a large set of data to look at and draw conclusions from.

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
I've seen several people mention it in a couple of different worlds.  I don't think any of my teams have been hit particularly hard w/ injuries, but have seen some team really take it on the chin.  However, as best as I can tell, no one really has an idea what a "typical" season of injuries is.  Perhaps this can establish a current baseline over many worlds, at different points and give us something to at least compare to next time we think "are injuries up/down?"

anyhoo, my worlds:

plumpyrules!!!!1111  ML - 20, MiL - 91, we're in the 1st day of the playoffs
Fingers                        ML - 14, MiL - 92, we start the league championship series tomorrow
Ripken, Jr                    ML - 8,   MiL - 14, we're 4 games into the season, so some of these are carry overs from last season.

No one in any of my 4 worlds has mentioned an increase in injuries.    We're obviously special.
I've got hit hard the last season or so in a few worlds I had 2 or 3 in Coop last season i've got 2 in BTP this season, but since i had <1 ML injury per season on most of them for more than 5 seasons previously, i just figured i was due some injuries, thats how chance works right?

On the other hand i don't see how combining DL snapshots, gives you meaningful data for comparison? For example, i quite often don't put position players on the DL (Season enders excluded) thats a data skew, and im sure im not the only one.

What is sorely needed is a new type of report that shows the number of injuries per team per level and the number of days lost to injury. Add two columns to show budgeted amounts for Training and Medical and you'd have a nice tool to determine the effectiveness of money spent on them.

And while we're dreaming, why not add two columns that shows the average health ratings and fatigue level of the players when they were injured.

"First off this is NOT another thread complaining about injuries.  It is an attempt to gather DL data from multiple worlds."

I smell a witch hunt under the premise of a "data collection" exercise.
