1 team available in RPL Season 3! Topic

The Rookie Progressive League (RPL) has 5 openings for the 1970 season.  5 owners have gone awol and are not responding to sitemails.  The rosters are posted below.

See rules and rosters below.

This is a fun league that is in it's inaugural season, and that began with each player in his rookie season, there will be a lot of history in this league, and I look forward to seeing players progress!

            ------------1969 "Rookie League" Draft ------------

INITIAL DRAFT:

Owners will pick franchise/stadium upon sign up.  I will select my team after 8 owners have joined.

The initial draft will be a 25 round serpentine snake style draft.  (Draft Order will be determined by random.org).

TWIST:

Ok, so what makes this league any different from every other progressive? (Namely the 1969 progressive I JUST started??)
We will draft our 25 man rosters using players available in 1969 however; each player will revert back to his ROOKIE season (hence the name of the league)....i.e...Bob Gibson will revert back to 1959, Willie Mays starts back in 1951...etc...

FUTURE DRAFTS:
Future drafts will be pretty straight forward.  Season 2 will be 1970 rookies, season 3 will be 1971 rookies and so on.  Order will be based on W-L record (worst -first), with a lottery for the top pick (worst 5 teams). Since players will already be in their rookie year, nothing special happens after the inaugural draft!  There will be a win floor of 48 games.  If you fail to meet the win floor you will drop to 6th in the draft.  If more than one owner misses the win floor, the owner with the most wins will pick first.

General Rules:

Team Name: Must start with city/state, but can then be anything you want after that
AAA: 12/8  average (until 1971)
DH: SPLIT (AL ONLY)
IR: If a player doesn't have a WIS elilgible season, he can be put on IR until he returns.  There is no limit to how many players you can have on IR.
Trades: No restrictions on trades as trades are highly encouraged to achieve parity and competitiveness. 120 game trade deadline will be enforced, but roster moves will be allowed all season long. Commissioner can overrule any that are too lopsided or are too many seasons out (I'll put a 2 year max on draft picks ..1969 I can trade 1970 and 1971 picks, but not 1972) -
WW: No
Stadiums: Must use teams RL stadium for the appropriate season.
Relocation: Teams will have the option to relocate and/or change team names as appropriate with current season.
Expansion: As new cities become available in the late 70's teams that are interested in relocating to one of these cities can express interest and will be put into a lottery for the relocation if more than 1 team is interested in relocating.

League Prizes:

Assuming the league goes five seasons and we keep at least half of the inaugural owners the $50 prize from admin will be distributed as five $10 GC as follows:

Best Cumulative Record
This goes to the owner who has the best overall W% with a minimum three season played in the league.

If the owner ran multiple teams and each team qualifies then each team will be counted separately. If one, or no team qualifies, they will be counted together.

Most playoff berths
This will be given to the owner with the most appearances in the playoffs during that 5 year span.

Random Prize
This will be randomly distributed to any single current owner in the league, myself excluded. Owners with two teams will have two chances.

Longevity Award
This will be randomly distributed to any single current owner who has been with the league from the inaugural season, myself excluded.

*Wildcard*
This will be changed up every 5 seasons to give some variety and allow for other goals or prizes.

Hey chargingryno. Your header grabbed my attention. So, I came in to take a look. I see the five owners that abandoned their teams in
your new league, are all in my new 1982 league. First red flag. I go back to this thread, to double check the owners names. Then on back to my new league
page and click on each owner's name. All, have two active teams. The completed season team in your league and my new league.
Second red flag. No more flags needed. LOL  Anyone disagree that some dude has a bunch of aliases?

You can add WINSHARED to the list.

To recap, all six of these [cough] owners are in exactly two leagues.
Your's and mine.
All six of these guys sent core players down to AAA on 2/11 and 2/12.
None of these players have been recalled.

Another owner in my league, brought something else up.
All of these six owners mascot names in my league
are football names.
Pittsburgh Steelers, Georgia Bulldogs, Los Angeles Outlaws,
Baltimore Stallions, California Goldenbears, SF 49ers

It is my belief, that the following are one in the same
crimsontears
seriusblack
sixthsense47
mrsinister1
historian
winshared

I sent in a ticket to admin (cut and pasted below)

Hello admin,
it seems really obvious to me, but are these five owners all the same? When did they last access the site?

crimsontears, seriusblack, sixthsense47, mrsinister1 and historian.

This whole episode is disgraceful but also puzzling. Why spend $$ for 5 teams and then bug out ? 2 of the teams were contenders for division titles and the other 3 were mediocre, not terrible. The drafting was obviously OK or good for these teams. WTH was the purpose ?

Per just4me who will post on here to confirm later -

To any owner who takes on one of these teams and commits for at least 3 seasons in the league, just4me will give a free team at the completion of their 1st season.

I wouldn't worry about it.  If someone tries to cheat and only does it halfway, I feel more grateful than puzzled.  If this person wants to waste their money, so be it.
