signability - draft Topic

I generally stay away from "undecideds", etc, because I don't feel like dealing with the uncertainty.   I did draft someone who has this tho - "May sign if the deal is right. Has been offered several scholarships to play college baseball at a DI school." What should I expect? If he comes back with a bigger $ amount, how much bigger is normal?  May he just sign the original contract? Could he say "No, thanks" and go to college without coming back with another amount?

Thanks.

Most I've experienced will ask for about twice their slot money, then come back and ask for more, but eventually sign.  For instance, Donatello Brown was "May sign if the deal is right."  He asked for $6,000,000 originally, came back with $8,000,000.

But there are some that don't sign.  Probably 75/25 to 80/20, something around there, on those that sign/don't sign.  Just pulled those numbers out of the air, though, based on how it feels from past experience.

Gotcha.  He's only asking for $800K, which is only little bit above slot, so hopefully he doesn't ask something closer to $8 mil.
