If a player quits do you get the money? Topic

I know if I cut him then I get nothing, but I've never had a player quit. I'm considering letting a Sim AI recruited player keep riding the bench so he quits, but only if I get the money.

players more or less never leave due to being unhappy with playing time, with the single exception of if you made a promise.

also i think u do get the money

I'm hoping to get him to quit. He is a Jr getting about 6 minutes a game and complaining. I'd cut him but I have no scholarships open this season so I'd have no money to recruit someone else. I'm better off just letting him graduate than having a walk on for that year. If he quits and I get the money to get a player I want in that is the best situation though.

i know what you mean. sadly, of the several times ive hoped the same, and the hundred times i've seen others hope the same, i've never actually seen a guy who left. but best of luck! its supposedly possible. i remain skeptical but hey, you never know! i am just saying that if you could make some use of him, that is probably more valuable than benching him in hopes he leaves, because that is like a hail mary except your 1st and 2nd string QBs are out with injuries and your 3rd stringer is tommy maddox.

I already have 2 SFs I like more than him, he has absolutely no useful spot, he is a sim recruit on a team that won 6 games last year. I have him as 3rd string he is basically getting 6 minutes a game for a team that isn't going to win more than 11 games this year anyway. worth a shot I guess

yup. and it could be worse. he could be tommy maddox :O

you'll still get conference $...might be enough to fill one open scholie...

for a guy getting scrub minutes, he's not really hurting you with his stats...not a lot of tos or fouls, and his scoring (considering his PT) ain't that bad, and he's at least made 12 of his 30 free throws...I really doubt he'll leave from benching him, and I know he doesn't make you a lot better, but he's getting 8 mpg at more than just SF too from the looks of things, giving your starters and maybe more importantly 2nd unit a chance to stay fresher...

tl,dr I say play him at 3rd string like you have been then use tourney money to find someone else and cut him before signings if you can make it work...

The last time I tried to get a sim-recruited guy to quit, I organized soap parties in the shower, told his mother lies about his manhood and kicked his dog.

It still didn't work.

I think you are better off focusing on cutting the SO -- best case, use tourney $ to recruit his replacement; worst case, take a Sim walk-on who will definitely quit the next season. You flush that roster spot a season sooner that if you let him go to graduation.

I assume you mean the SO PF and not SO SF, yea there are plenty of guys worth cutting from the team, I was just hoping one would quit so I got the money for him is all.

yeah, i meant the Sim recruited player -- I did not check him out, but assumed you were satisfied with the player you recruited. if the jr does not quit, i dont think you gain much strategically to cut him as a sr. better off cutting the so --> jr sim recruit.

yea I wasn't planning to cut him if he didn't quit. I really was just wondering if I got money if he quit, seems nobody is positive since players never seem to quit.

well, players quit due to promises all the time. i said in my earlier post, i thought you got the money, but i really am like 98% sure or more. i just dont like to pass it off like i know for sure unless its like 99.9%
