Simple Change to Evals Idea Topic

What do people think about a simple change to evals - one that will bridge the gap while they work on making them better (which they said they want to do) - I'd like to be able to see the FSS ratings on a player that I do an eval for is my idea.  There's some realism in getting that info and it's kind of silly to have to scout an entire state if you want to see the ratings of just one guy.  Really silly if you send multiple evals to someone and never get the full FSS ratings.

I could hear someone saying it's too cheap to get all that info from one eval - so maybe if you do 2 evals you get the notes as usual but also the FSS ratings.

Seems like a good way to entice more strategy and possibly even long distance recruiting?

are you talking about scouting trips?

yes, he is.

and at first glance I like it.

how about- if you do 3 evals at once you get the FSS info.  Otherwise- it's the same.

yeah scouting trips/evals - whatever you call them

i'd be open to variations that required more than 1 eval to reveal FSS

I think that makes a lot of sense.

I always felt it was very silly that you could spend way more on a few scouting trips for one player and not even get his full potential vs. spending much less to get every player in the entire state.

I'd say that two scouting trips should do it.

You guys are missing the point of the FSS in my opinion. Pick your poison... Not saying I like it but it's that way for a reason...

I personally like scouting an entire state, it saves you many eval visits if your close. If you want to leave your state then your on your own.... Just me.

I agree with the idea.
I too have always felt it very strange that you can potentially spend more to scout a player than to scout an entire state, depending on distance and number of recruits in his state. This seems just silly to me.
I for one don't see why it would have to be more than 1 scouting trip to be able to see everything.
As jbrewman said that is just me.

What I would like to see is the capacity to get scouting information on specific rating areas of my chosing.  Something like this: I scout a player and choose two areas to get information about, and then have two other areas chosen randomly.  When I scout a center, I want to be able to know what his REB and ATH is.

That idea makes too much sense to be used. It will be greeted with a "thanks for your suggestion" note.

I agree with you for the most part- but the fact that you can't find potentials on internationals for specific categories can be very annoying.

I've said for a while you should be able to specifically indicate what you want to be scouted. I suggested it through a ticket and got the response mully said. It ****** me off when I scout a SG and I get told all about his rebounding, shot blocking and how good of a student he is but don't hear anything about his shooting. This really only comes into play when you're recruiting internationals since everybody else you have FSS but it doesn't make it any less annoying getting info you do not care about. It's one thing when you are trying to pull a recruit down so you send a bunch of evals because you have to but when a player is available to you and you send evals to find out about him it makes no sense that you don't have the ability to tell your assistant coach exactly what you want to find out to see if the player is worth going after.

it doesn't just come into play with internationals, because quite often whether a high is high-high or low-high can be a factor for me on choosing which recruit to pursue, or deciding whether to commit to a battle, etc...

i don't think this idea prevents you from "picking your poison" jbrew - if you had to spend 2 evals on a guy and he was 500+ miles - let's say it cost $500-$600 just for that one guy, if he ends up with bad potential, i'd say you just took some serious poison.  i just gives you another poison to pick really.
