D2 vs D1 recruiting Topic

D2 coach here. I've never coached in D1 and don't have any idea how much a D1 school spends early in recruiting to get a recruit to consider them.

Looking at going after a recruit that a C- prestige, D1 school,  already has considering them. He has 7 open scholies, but already has had 9 recruits considering his school. Now there are only 8, and 4 of those are also considering other schools.

I know D1 schools have so much money that it is usually useless to try to compete ... but I suspect he is spending lots of $$ and there may be a point where perhaps I can go after the recruit (I'm only a B prestige, but do have a distance advantage).

Would like to know if it is possible to make a reasonable estimate of what he has spent so far .... just watching the situation.

Thanks in advance

Run away! Run away! I could go on and on with reasons why but don't want to bore you.

depending on prestige, i would keep an eye on the guy and maybe he won't be one of the primary targets of the d1. you can't fight him tho, just hope he lets him go or sigsn a different 7 of 9.

D1 schools get $15,000 per scholarship.  In D1 I will put $5000+ onto a guy to get him away from a sim all the time.  And I have A-/B+ D1 prestige.

I recently spent $4800 to get a guy from a D+ sim.  I redshirted him with the button, but I had A- D1 prestige.
