Well if he keeps redlining everything he'll lose his posting privileges soon, so unless he forms an alias for the sole purpose of irritating people it should cease to be a problem.

i realize some of his posts are quite frank and may rub some people the wrong way, but when i've asked skunk for help or an opinion outside of the message board he's always made time to answer my questions.

Yes, he will answer questions/post advice. But he's usually a jerk about it.

not in my experience.  if i send him a msg and ask for his opinion he gives it and has never been nasty about it.

like i said, i realize he says things on the boards that may irk some people...but i also think some people need to take themselves, skunk, wis, and life in general a little less seriously and let things roll off their backs.

Lol, the funny thing is he's way different in the CC. When he first joined 1 of my conferences he was a dick but I thought it was obvious he did it on purpose just to get people riled up then after a couple of months he was cool and now he's joined another 1 of my conference and is the same way. He moved up to D1 in Knight and still posts on our D3 board and is never a dick. If you ask the people who are in conferences with him we will all say he's great to have in the conference because his contributions to the CC are always positive and sometimes amusing.

Didn't see this before I made my post, but yea it's exactly what he's doing, and everyone falls for it. I've even said it in a couple of his threads that people are falling for it and everytime there are 1 or 2 or people who disagrees and thinks thats his personality.

So his personality is to try to **** people off by pretending to be a douche?  But he's not really a douche?  He just wants to **** people off for fun?  I think if you actually try to reason through it any personality that intentionally wants to get people riled up for personal amusement has a healthy dose of jackass in it, even if it's a different sort of jackass than he's "pretending" to be.  Although I'm a firm believer that if you pretend to be something enough it generally means it's what you want to be, and if it's something as simple as a general personality trait then if you want it enough you'll get there.  So maybe he's 2 kinds of a jackass?

Maybe he's a pyschology major, and genuinely enjoys mind ******* people. I heard about a guy a few years back who was on his school's debate team and would go on to forum's and constantly start arguments just to test his debating skills, anything is possible. I do find it amusing that I interact with him all the time in the CC with no problems and so does everybody else in his conferences and then I see him fighting with everybody on the forum.
