Just thought I'd share with the community at large the wonderfully fulfilling, insightful and cheerful conversation I had with a CS rep about a ML FA that I didn't bid on and recieved (understand I have one of the youngest and highest potential lineup in my world, they are cheap and just now getting into their prime). We had a coach last season who, in revenge, purged his entire ML squad and any good minor leaguers. We, as league, decided at the end of last season to not only not persue those that were FA, but also to return all players that had been claimed on waivers. This was one of those players and I immediately traded him to his old franchise, but my 6.75 million was then tied up during most of free agency until the trade was completed. Definately tied my hands, but essentially I wanted to let them know about the mystery signing and just have them look into it for future reference. Totally benign. This was the confersation (there are a couple of typo in a few messages due to the glory of Swype's recognition logic).

For some reason I'm having free agents I most definately did not persue showing up at my ballpark. First it was a ML 3B with a 6.5 million dollar price tag (my position players have been pat for several seasons), now I have a DH show up and I'm an NL team. The 6.5 million dollar player really hurt. He was a guy that a previous owner had dumped, along with the rest of his squad, in a revenge purge before quitting. Everyone was giving the new owner his players back, so not only would I not have needed him, I wouldn't have gone after him anyway. That 6.5 hit to my salary has prevented me from going after the ML pitching I needed, and who were the only ML FA's that I was going for. He has been traded back to his orignal team (as per our league agreement to the new owner), but that salary was stuck in limbo while the trade when off and I missed my true target.

Anthony,
What is your specific request?

No specific request, I handled it on my own, just pointing out a problem. Had weas a league not been dealing with that specific team, I would have been stuck with a player and salary I didn't bid on. I'll just east the minor ledger I didn't bid on's contract.

Umm, no response a to why this might have happened? Twice?

Anthony,
I still have no idea what you are asking.

I'm asking why I got some 6.5 million dollar player added to my team that I never bid on, then later got a DH FA I didn't bid on. Why was I getting these FA's I neither bid on or wanted.

Anthony,
Who are the player's in question?

Rico Wilfredo is the main guy I was concerned with. Now with Syracuse.

Anthony,
The player in question was signed to a 4 year, $6.75M contract in season 4.

Yes, I know, that's what I was complaining about. I never negotiated with him. I only negotiated with pitchers on the ml level, so why was I magically awarded a guy I didn't bid on wirh a big contract?

Anthony,
The database indicates that you submitted the offer to this player.
There is no need to respond to the this ticket anymore, any future submissions regarding this topic will automatically be closed.
I'm not even asking them to fix anything (I would have if said player wasn't in the situation he was in and I couldn't trade him away), I just wanted to let them know there was an issue. Instead I get "it's in our database, don't respond anymore"? What is wrong with these people? Where is common courtesy and skillful customer interaction. It's like talking to the phone company with these guys. Arrogant and inneffectual.
