JimDarwin is destined to be my MLB SS.  Currently at AAA, we're in the playoffs now.  His Batting numbers are 51-66-43-57-59.  Basically maxed out  already already (he's 21), except at vR, where he projects to 68.

His fielding numbers next season should be 92-77-95-78.    He's not quite a MLB SS with the glove yet.  But he projects to 99-89-100-99

I could use him as my MLB 2B vs. righties next year.  (His Durability is maxed at 80 right now.....so he probably only gets about 600 PA's at  100%.  Starting him against RH's only puts him right in that ballpark, including PH appearances.)

Or I could use him as my AAA SS.

I want him to be my MLB SS the year following.  He'll be a very nice  offensive and defensive SS.

Does it make a difference whether I use him as a MLB 2B or a AAA SS in influencing his SS development?  I'm pretty sure getting MLB coaching and lots of chances at 2B rather than another AAA SS stint is better for him.  But I just wanted to check.

I think that guy's glove will top out at 80-81

He's headed for about 90/80/95/80, just a little better than that.  He's also about done with the bat.  That's still a major league SS, a solid one despite the extra errors, especially since he can sustain about a .700 OPS.

I don't think there's evidence that what SiteStaff have said about position mattering for defensive development is very important.  If he helps you contend for the playoffs by playing ML 2B next season, go for it.
