What Should I Do? Topic

Should I accept my role... as the villain?

Okay, that was a joke (couldn''t help myself). What I really need help with has to do with recruiting. I have seven scholarships and  freshman locked up for the class, now I have to choose between these two junior college players who both have an offer and are considering:

1) A sophomore that isn't too talented, nor does he have the greatest potentials. However, he is a sure sign.

2) A junior (would be my only junior, in fact) who obviously has better ratings and he even has solid potentials. However, the word on the street says he is "definitely leaning" towards signing with another school (coached by a simmy). Since that last word on the street, I have offered (and he accepted) minutes and a starting spot. He also sent me a message saying that he is really struggling right now and needs more time.

I have money to throw at option two's way but signings start the next cycle; I am not sure if I want to risk taking option one's offer away and losing the battle for number two. What should I do?

Realistically and long-term, is option 1 any better than a Sim walk-on that will leave next season? If not, then throw sink at Option 2 and live with strategic walk-on if option 2 fails.

If you want to be a champion, you have to take risks. Go for #2.  The sophomore likely won't play much anyway

Are you even in competition for option #1?  if not, wait and see after you go for the gold w/ Jr.  I looked at the players and the PG looks okay at JC player.  The center w/ 422 ratings at DII doesn't look very good IMO.

plus if you have offered both options already, the soph may sign quicker than you think if no competition

It's kind of funny that you mentioned those two players (the point and the center) because neither of those two guys made my seven-player cut and I withdrew both of their 'ships. The PG may look okay, but he has very poor potentials. Option #1 is the center, by the way. He wouldn't be much more than a rebounder if that was who I got.

I went ahead and withdrew the offer from Option #1. I am just trying for #2 now.
