Both are DI PG's, let's assume they have maxed out in every category.

Player 2:

I have never treated athleticism as an important thing for a point, so I am going to have to go with number one. Actually, to me anyways, it does not seem like a close race at all (but I do not have a lot of experience, so I would get another opinion).

Ath matters for all positions. #2 is better imo.

I knew that it mattered, but I always thought that it was not a huge factor. In this case, I wouldn't think twice about giving up that athleticism for better speed, range, handles, passing, and even better free throw shooting. Also, #1 has those great passing skills that are needed for the triangle offense.

number 2.

#2, and I'm not an ath/speed whore like tianyi and skunk.  The Per/BH/Pass just doesn't make up for the Ath/Spd/Def difference.

#2 - because his ATH combined with his DEF is a great combination.

What if I dropped player 2's ball handling, passing and speed by 5?
3/27/2011 4:28 PM
can we pick neither? #1's ath and def are too low, #2's spd and FT shooting are too low. If they were my only choices, I'd start the better defender - even with dropping the spd another 5 that's #2.

#2 before and after

This is actually a little scary because I have two guards that fit these profiles pretty well, so here is an example of your guys that's been played out:
Michael Rembert (Player #1, lead the nation for a while last year, currently the nation in assists) and Larry Glenn (one year younger, still very good, but not as good as Rembert IMO).

Wow, both are impressive, but obviously Rembert more so.

if you are gonna call me a whore, might as well get it correctly. i'm an ath/def whore, not ath/spd whore.

#2, but I've never coached D1
