Sim practice minutes Topic

From the team I just took over, it looks like this is what the sim had as its standard practice minutes by position?  Zero in low post for guards?  Zero in perimeter for Posts?  I thought those both had value for those positions?

PG: C: 14, REB: 7, FW:14, lp: 0, PE: 14, BH:15, P: 15, FT:11

SG: C:13, REB: 7, FW: 13, LP: 0, PE: 20, BH: 13, P: 12, FT: 12

SF: C: 13, REB: 12, FW: 13, LP: 10, PE: 10, BH: 10, P: 10, FT: 12

PF: C: 12, REB: 20, FW: 12, LP: 20, PE: 0, BH: 5, P: 10, FT: 11

C: C: 12, REB: 20, FW: 12, LP: 19, PE: 0, BH: 5, P: 10, FT: 12

I think those are just recommendations as they wouldn't give the sim's or any other coaches practice plan strategy.

False.

I never give my guards any LP practice.  Guards score to the basket by using BH, ATH and SP.   As far as I knew, LP was useless on guards.

As for PER on Post players, I might give some to a big guy but he would have to have a min of 15-20 there to begin with. Otherwise they get 0 as well.

There has been some debate on this board about the value of LP for guards.  Quite a few vets think that it does help since the last update.

I don't pass up recruiting guards with LP.  It's just not one of the cores I emphasize.

There is no debate. LP clearly changed with the big redesign to the new seble engine. It was in the design notes and the developers chat. LP used to just be back to basket. Now it is described as in-the-paint. It absolutely impacts guard scoring, especially at -1 or -2. Can guards score without high lp with good bh and ath/spd. Yes. Add a decent lp score to that same guard and he will score more efficiently.

That is what I have always thought.

in my experience LP is an awesome bonus to have in guards, obviously combined with BH and ath
