As flbarons said, when this league catches up to real life and runs out of seasons, we will start over in the format that led to this being called the Real Life League. You don't have to make the switch when we revert, but here's what reverting back looks like:
We originally started with the 1980 season, and it looks like most owners want to restart in the 1969 season. In our inagurual 1980 season, everyone arbitrarily received a complete team from 1980. We then kept who we wanted from that team, dropped who we didn't, and drafted based on the order the real teams ended in 1980. In other words, the team with the worst end of season 1980 record was Seattle, so that team would have selected first, followed by the Chicago Cubs, California/Anaheim, etc. Since there were 26 teams and 24 owners, and neither Seattle nor the Cubs were selected, Anaheim received the first pick and could draft any of the unclaimed players from Seattle and the Cubs. That way you keep a core of your team's heroes and go from there, trading as you see fit, and remolding your team. Just for fun, we also monitored how much better or worse each team did in Real Life than in real life. Join up!
