Tulane - Rupp: The best opening in America Topic

Last season, a group of top coaches moved into C-USA in Rupp in an effort to build that conference into a power. There were 10 sim teams, and overnight we had 10 humans.

This morning, we were fortunate enough to add a pair of HD legends, billyg and iguana (oldwarrior) to our ranks. There is now just one opening: Tulane.

And as you can see, Tulane isn't just a leftover job that no one wanted. They made the NT last season, already have a C+ prestige and are located in a very fertile recruiting area. The conference is very active, and obviously presents a great challenge -- both in competing with one another, and in elevating the conference to the level of supremacy that were are destined for!

If you're a great D2 coach waiting for the right opening ... this is that opening.
If you're a DI coach looking for a challenge ... this is that challenge.
If you've been out of Rupp for a bit with an eye towards coming back ... this is your reason.

Basically, if you're a top-notch coach, other than family emergency or a mysterious aversion to Cajun/Creole cuisine, there is no reason NOT to apply for this job.

Please submit your formal application to dacj501, and don't be alarmed when he demands a full-body probe. This is just standard operating procedure.

If I could leap from D3 to D1, I would do it so I can play with the big boys. Too bad that's not possible.

Wish I'd realized this yesterday. I just jumped from No. Illinois to Marquette last night. First time in probably 30 tries lifetime that I actually landed a Keep Looking or Longshot job.

Hell, I might even be persuaded to waive the body probe...

You know what? I have fond memories of when we did this with Rupp-CAA way back when. I'm in.

Assuming nobody snags it before I can get money from Paypal into my WIS account, of course.

I knew it was the probe that was holding folks back...that's really gonna make billy g and iguana feel silly for agreeing to it...

To be fair, billyg practically demanded it, and had it written into his contract to be part of his postseason review each year.

So girt, this is the job you took to demonstrate that it's possible to compete at mid-level D1?

jbas, that's not my agenda whatsoever. (I've actually been one of the loudest people saying they've made it too difficult to compete outside the BCS conferences.) I took this job (rather than staying at my D2 dynasty or jumping to a BCS school) because I wanted more of a challenge, plain and simple.
