Do they mean zero/or just a little?

They mean Zero according to the "guide" ...that's years old.  But recently I've seen they mean something.  Is there is anyone nice/and smart, please help us who want to learn.

Thanks

LP now matters, that's outdated.

Reb, some people will tell you it matters, but I've long contended it doesn't mean nearly enough in guards. I'd say little to nothing, especially at d-!! and dIII for rebounding at the 1 and 2 spots.

LP is awesome to have in a guard

LP in guards can increase FG%, and I think increase the chance of drawing fouls (not 100% sure, because I haven't seen this to be true on my team). Reb in guards matter. A 90 reb SG might not rebound as well as a 90reb C (I believe there's a position modifer giving C and PF more reb than PG/SG/SF) but the 90 Reb SG can still grab 7+ boards easily.

A +2 rebound margin at a position is a plus two rebound margin at a position.  Whether its the difference between 11 and nine or 5 and three.

Check out Buser on my squad.  LP definitely matters in a guard now.

both matter as much as anything else which is not a main core skill (like pass in pf's or centers) - one thing I am pretty sure a 60lp / 60 per guard set to zero will shoot more 2's than his counter part who is a 10 lp / 60 per guard set to zero, all things being equal - is that what others see too?

I also think that since rebounding was changed more to look at ind matchups, reb in guards is slightly more important.  In the old days, real great center / pf rebounding could hide a 1 reb guard, now that 1 reb guard will lose his match to a 25 reb guard most of the time, although the number is still like 1 to 2.5, if that makes any sense?  Rebounding still is determined by more than reb, and most 1 reb guards are pretty athletic and fast, making up for some of the gap, which is real life in my limited experience - as by far the poorest rebounders I coach are guys who are not athletes - most my little guards are actually pretty good rebounders in real life.

In the middle of AAU season right now, have 3 teams this season, a group of older kids than usual (17 year olds), the game really gets up around the rim when the game is played by kids who are college prospects and are in the 6'7" to 6'10" range vs the 15 year old game.  But we start at that level a pair of 5'7" guards, each gets his 3 or 4 rebounds a game - so many 3's get shot in modern buckets, that long rebounds happen, and those guards can run those down, plus the big kids often throw each other down, and the quick guys swoop in on those too.

It is possible to run an offense built around penetration and scoring in the paint, and if you choose to do so LP in guards becomes a core attribute IMO. It can be very effective. REB is slightly more important for the reasons OR mentioned.

And OR, regarding the shot ratio, that is exactly the case, and as seble intended in the redesign I believe.

On both of my D1 teams I currently have guys with high rebound rating playing guard. After 7 games on I have a 66 reb guy at PG averaging 6 rebounds per and on my other team after 13 games I have a 42reb PG averaging 4.1 rpg and an 86reb SG getting 5.5rpg. Of course all of these guys are over 90ath with 2 of them being at 99ath and the other being at 92.
