I really wish there was a option to put 0(0) pitchers on the DL, it would greatly help anyone who has to take over an abandoned team as it would free up roster spots so they could get the pitching staff healthy again in a decent amount of time

The problem with this is that it is too easy to abuse by owners. It is a good idea for abandoned teams though.

the yankess put a guy on the DL because of a "dead arm" whatever the hell that means. I've taken over a few teams where the whole staff would have qualified as dead arms even if they weren't at zero. Seems to me there should be some help available for abandoned teams, and this would be a start.

I'm curious exactly how someone might abuse this, because it seems to me that benefits would outweigh the possibility of shenanigans. But it's possible I'm missing something.

Its a bail out for the owners that dont take care of their minors. I do agree that it would be awesome for people taking over abandoned teams, though.

It does bail out owners who don't take care of their minors (or majors), but they still must find guys to take the disabled pitchers' places. There's almost certainly going to be some drop-off in quality, particularly at the ML level.

Players returning from the DL can create roster problems.    Throw the hell out of the guy with no options to get him to 0(0) so he can be DL'd and reactivate the other guy.   I'd have done it last season in Hamilton if that option existed.

As far as abandoned teams, you know what you're getting.  It may not be "fun"(I took a 4-58 team in Foxx that had been abandoned since ST) but it's still free.
