giving a player a day off Topic

How often do I need to be playing my bench? My guys always say 100% health so I never give anyone a day off. lol

that is funny. roflmao.    Now that my smart assery is over, watch the durability rating of your players.  Some can play all 162.  Others, not so much.

As you progress through the season, you'll see your position players start to accumulate some fatigue and drop below 100%.  Can't hurt to give them a day off here and there before that happens so that you can throttle their rest.  Otherwise, if you wait until they start to show fatigue, you might have to start juggling your lineup with multiple players dropping below 100%.

depends on your strategy for the season. i've never done the days off when they're not showing fatigue.. i use the defensive and pinch hitting settings for trailing or leading after a certain amount of innings to give my guys some rest. then rest them once they dip to 97% or lower.

maybe that's a part of why my guys haven't shown any less than 100% then because I also have it set to rest starters for defensive replacements up 3 runs and such.

Multiply the durability by 7, using that as a target.  Platooning for a period of time or giving occasional spot starts to keep the at bats down will do the trick.

You can also maximize days off by giving them them before or after scheduled off-days.

If a player isn't 95+ DUR, he's probably not playing 162 at 100%.

You're 25 games into the season.  It takes a while for fatigue to show up in position players, they fatigue and recover much slower than pitchers.  Your 77 DUR catcher and your 71 DUR LF will start to drop 70-80 or so games into the season if you play them every inning... once they get to 99, to keep them there you will only be able to play them about half the time.  Better to rest them early and prevent them from getting to 99.

Yep, sprinkling in off days is good because it allows you to pick and choose when a guy gets rest, as opposed to being forced to sit him in the heart of a playoff race.  As others have stated, your lower DUR players should be given more off days.  And certain positions fatigue faster than others (a player will fatigue much faster at C than at DH, for example).
