rules and stuff:
What will you be picking? You'll be picking franchises
as they are defined in the WIS draft center. Each listing is considered independent. If you draft the New York Highlanders, you get anyone who is listed with the Highlanders. No Yankees. If you draft the Los Angeles Dodgers, you don't get any Brooklyn Robins or even Brooklyn Dodgers (sadly, no Brooklyn Decker either).
First pick: 5 players
Second pick: 10 players
Third pick: 10 players
So you could have 5 really awesome Yankees playing with 10 lesser KC Cowboys. There won't be a salary cap, but I don't think one is really necessary. Those 3rd round teams may contribute full-time players who you only need for 100 PAs. I don't want to limit anyone's flexibility.
Other stuff for housekeeping:
DH: Yes
Cap: $255mil
AAA: No
Stadium: Must be one used by one of your teams (any team with no stadium listed is considered WIS Park)
Trades: No
Injuries: Yes
WW: No
Live: Not required, not restricted
Alignment: will be done by pick (1-4 in NLE, 5-8 in NLC, etc)
Clones: will be allowed if they are from different franchises (Mays SFG and Mays NYG is OK, 2 Mays from NYG is not OK)
Combined/Split seasons: Will be allowed. If a player comes up under a search (say Danny Haren, 2010 Anaheim Angels) then you can use him, even if it's a combined season.
Clarification of "Franchise" definition:
You get whatever comes up in the draft center under a search. So when you search "Baltimore Orioles" you get 1885-1902 and 1954-2010 players --- when you pick the O's you get all of those players.
You are not entitled to the Browns which are also part of their franchise in the MLB sense. There is no concept of a franchise here - it's just the team name in the draft center.
