Anyway, I was just throwing out another idea. The math works nice- 24 teams divided by 6 rounds= each team getting a top 4 spot in one round.
1-24
5-4
9-8
13-12
17-16
21-20

Anyway, it's just a thought and I didn't think it through much, so there may be flaws, but I thought Id throw it out there.

re: sly's proposal - if I understand what's he's on about picking at 22 it looks like I'd get the *** end in the first two rounds, mediocre in the next 3 and a top 4 in the last round when we're picking scrubs (which means not even a top 4 player because the two guys ahead of me are taking 2 each)?

I wasnt suggesting that would be the order for rounds 1-6 respectively. Just that those be the ones that get assigned randomly. I don't like anal rapes either. As it stands now, I don't get a top 5 pick in any round.

I don't think there's any point trying to shuffle the draft order to get a "perfect" balance for everyone. In a traditional snake draft the people picking in the middle don't even get a top 10 pick in any round.

With the current setup I don't think I would have been grabbing the 13th slot when there were plenty of other choices available, but I'd rather just get on with it either the way it was originally or the way it is now than keep changing it further.

I fine the way it is now, in fact felt in was fine in the beginning.  But the idea everyone should get a top 4 pick is not really the point.  We did this in the Master Blaster draft and there was no issue.  Dont understand why there is one now....

Lol. There is no issue. I threw out an idea because I thought it made some sense. There seemed to be some concern about draft order.

As an example:
Round 1: 1-24
Round 2: 21-20
Round 3: 5-4
Round 4: 17-16
Round 5: 9-8
Round 6: 13-12

Everyone gets a top 4 pick in one round. Apparently that's confusing to people somehow.

Or:
Round 1: 1-24
Round 2: 9-8
Round 3: 17-16
Round 4: 5-4
Round 5: 13-12
Round 6: 21-20
....

maybe I dont get it -what I do get is that I dont want my only 'top 4 pick' to be in the 6th round (and I doubt anyone else does either) - I get my pick of scrubs - thanks - and meanwhile I get to take middle to hind *** in every other round? fabulous

I truly think that they way the draft is now is just fine. A big part of this type of draft is when you chose to sign up. If you signed later as opposed to sooner than you will get a worse draft position. If there were no blacked out players than a normal snake draft would have worked fine. I commend scud for trying his best to make this as fair as possible. 

Haha felon. I guess you don't get it- everyone gets shafted in a round (or two the way it is now). But I wasn't suggesting that round 6 specifically had to be the round where you got a top 4 pick. Meanwhile you get a #3 pick in 2 rounds and I don't get a top 5 pick in any round. So, carry on.
