Odd scouting trip report Topic

The final line of my last scouting trip on a guy said "He kept looking up in the stands to make sure I was still there.  i think he really likes..."

It seems he must have been looking at somebody else, because in the last cycle he told me I was still a back-up.  Do the scouting messages not matter in regards to back-up?

Did he start considering you this cycle? Responses to multiple scouting trips, HVs and CVs often change over the course of the same cycle. So for example if you send 10 trips the first couple there may not be anything indicating that he's considering you but by the end you could get responses indicating that is. Same goes for HVs and CVs. I've had many times in D1 where I've sent 80 HVs to a recruit in groups of 10 and the first 4 or 5 groups I'm getting lukewarm responses and by the last few I'm being told how much he wants to come to the school.

just offer paired with a HV or CV. There's no need to do any more evals if you're no longer a backup choice (unless you're still searching for nuggets of info).

like prior poster said... when you do multiple evals on the same cycle, he can flip from backup to recruitable and you get that from the feedback. if he's searching for you in the stands, you're no longer a backup and he's recruitable.

You start to get the messages like that before they actually become recruitable.  That one and the one about his uncle saying you have a good chance to sign the kid and the one with the thumbs up, etc.  Usually when you see those and assuming nobody else is recruiting the guy simultaneously you are within 2 or 3 scouting trips of being considered.
