Baseball "Ritual" Question Topic

I've noticed that often when the final out of an inning is made at first, when the first baseman is jogging off the field, someone in the dugout tosses him a ball, then he tosses the game ball into the stands.  Anyone know what the point of that is?

trenton joe is right,   the game used ball is a souvenier for a fan but the firstbaseman needs a ball for next innings warmups
