Years ago, before moving to HBD, I played in the Original Twist League. Is this still going somewhere? I remember winning the WS with the 1919 Black Sox there once.

OG Twist is still my favorite league here... I was on the waitlist for literally TWO YEARS - not two seasons, two actual years! - before I made it in for Twist XVII.  Been there for every season since, and we're up to season 47 now.

My first effort was the 2004 D-Backs, since they're my team and  '04 season had literally just ended.  That was back when E was still taking the time to write up detailed season previews for each team.  And he was brutal (but accurate) on pointing out my rookie mistakes - like ignoring Richie Sexson's general uselessness and spending $2M on the '03 Carlos Baerga for my bench, just because I liked him.

In my 30 seasons of OG Twist, they're the only team I've twisted twice.  I feel vindicated that you'll now see them on the Champions List.  Although it was painful to have to leave off Baerga for the second go-round...

That was waaaaay back in the old days, like 2001-2002 when the league first started.  And it seemed like no one ever left the league at the beginning.  There were something like 40+ guys waiting to get in back then.  A bunch of people on the waitlist ended up starting the Wannabe Twist League, and that's still going today also.

At the time it was a really unique concept, plus ESchwartz would write a well thought out, detailed analysis and predictions for each team in the league.  I'd end up reading all of them, even though I wasn't in the league yet.

We end up with around 4-5 new owners each season now, and a bunch of them are the old timers coming back. 

Seems like I remember an independent web site for this league at one time too. I guess E was keeping that going. Is that still around by any chance?

Some of the guys used to send out prizes to the winners too. I remember Metallicafan sending me a 16oz Pepsi Twist (they don't even make that drink anymore LOL) one season. I ended up having to send Metallicafan something "twist" related the very next season because he finished with a better W/L than I did. Don't remember what it was though. I think it was some kind of twist stick candy or something. OG was a fun league back then.

I kind of remember that too, but I think it hadn't been updated for awhile by the time I made it into the league.  It might be still floating around somewhere on Geocities or some other free server somewhere. 

DN would probably know... I'm pretty sure he's still around here in a few leagues
