Queston on 3-point frequency for a Center Topic

I have a solid D2 center with a great field goal percentage and averaging 9 boards a game.

He is currently set to a -2 3 point frequency so that he will focus on low post scoring and rebounding. However, his recent improvements in perimeter has me thinking about adjusting the 3 point frequency. My question is, basically, will it be better to let him shoot some 3 threes or just keep him at the -2. I've never had a 3 point shooting big. Thanks

If his PER is now really good, you might try moving him to minus one for say 5 games and then look at what happens.  I tend to think that an experiment tells you more than abstract analysis.

Good point.. He is still improving and his PER will soon be better than his LP. Granted he is only a junior, I have plenty of time to experiment. I ultimately don't want to hinder his ability to crash the offensive glass.

I would go -1.........seems like a good compromise

I have had a couple 50+ per big men in D3. They generally shoot a better % than 70 to 80 per guards for whatever reason.  Their % is generally .350 to .425 or so.  Definitely test at -1 and if all is well or your team is lacking in per than might experiment with even.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't go -2 on that guy...
