The Franchise Progressive League will be a 16 team league (4 divisions of 4 teams) consisting of the 16 franchises from 1901.
Important Rule # 1
Whatever team a player appears for in his first WIS season is the team he belongs to.
For example Babe Ruth is a member of the Boston AL team. There will be no curse unless the owner here decides to trade him.
For season 1 you can build your roster with any player from your franchise between 1901 and 1960. We will have a 25 man roster with 10 AAA players (6 position and 4 pitcher). The AAA players will be real life so when you put your team together you will select 35 players from your franchise.
Important Rule # 2
You must begin your players career with his first WIS season and play his seasons in progression. Players who played prior to 1901 must begin their career in their first season.
For example Cy Young played for the AL Boston team in 1901, and is their property but you must start his career at the beginning in 1890.
If a player played for 2 different franchises in his rookie WIS year he belongs to the team he played for first.
After 16 owners have signed up I will have an owner not in the league get a random set of 1 through 16 and a draft will be held for franchise selection. After your team is known I will need you to put together a 35 man team and post it in the league thread.
Important Rule # 3
For season 1 only we will have a salary cap of 120 mil for your 35 man roster. When you enter your team it must have 6 pos players and 4 pitchers at AAA. Which players are up to you.
Beginning in season 2 a list of each franchise rookies for the 1961 season will be posted. Each franchise owner must claim what rookies they decide to ad to their team. They must also list what players they are cutting from season 1. The rookies not chosen and the players cut will be put into a free agent pool. We will hold a 4 round snake style draft based on previous seasons records. You are not obligated to participate in this draft.
Also starting in season 2 we will hold a 2 round snake style draft.This will be known as The Expansion Draft. Players who began their career with the 14 expansion teams are eligible to be drafted.For this draft rookies from these teams first season are eligible to be drafted. An available players list will be provided for the draft. Again you must start their career in the 1st WIS season and play it in progression. You are not obligated to participate in this draft.
No WW,DH or clones.
Trading is allowed.
Draft picks from the free agent draft and expansion draft can also be traded.
Salary cap of 120 mil for 1st season only.
Real life AAA 6/4
Must play 40 games live to be eligible to play in post season.
All post season games must be played live.
