Team building factors Topic

Been building some teams of late and what I like to do is save them as dream teams and simulate them against each other to pick the best one.  I do multiple games with multiuple SPs to get a good variety of sims.  Sometimes I have the team with lower numbers come out and dominate a better offensive, defensive and Pitching team.   What do you think is more important what they do in a head to head sim or the flat out numbers?   Anyones input is welcome, just looking to discuss this.

contrarian has got what I'm asking on the nose.  I simmed 30 games between team A and team B.   each team got 15 home games,  with each of the 5 starting pitchers getting 3 starts.   Team A goes 19-11 Team B obviously goes 11-19.   with a rather convincing run differential.   I believe it was +22.    Over the course of the season this accumulates to about 103 Wins.

By the numbers team A is NOT the better team,  posting a lower AVE/OBP/SLUG  and a higher opp Ave/WHIP/ERA.   The question becomes, is there just something in this team that makes them winners.   OR is there a match-up thing going on here and they simply take advatage of it?

Was wondering is anyone else has done this?  or has theories on it.   I'm still relatively new to this and want to get better.

thanks boogerlips.   In your opinion there is useable feedback by doing this?   Or as I said earlier is it just a matchup thing?   What if the team witha good speration in wins if mathmatically the worse team?

Simulated 200 games the better statistical team won 125 of the 200.  or a .625 win %.  That's a pretty big difference from my 30 game findings

Now since the two teams are completely different.  It's not neccasarily the offense  that is 32% more effective,  It could be the pitching staff is the 32% less effective or a combination of the both correct?   That's an awesome formula BTW,  Been tryin to develope one.  I love numbers and this stuff jsut makes sence

Ya, you need to set some constants so that your results mean more.

Do you find that, the better on paper team is always the better playing team?
